Storyline: In 1976 (12 years in the future), Tim Pettigrew, the governor of NY decides to run for president and calls his old friend Bart Blatt to ask if he'd consent to become his press assistant. Bart and his wife Mary Jane fly up to Tim's Adirondak lodge to meet with Tim and his campaign manager, when Mary Jane suddenly gets a phone call saying her children have been kidnapped.

Chuck flies out to NYC and searches for Tony in his old neighborhood, but nobody seems to know him. As Chuck is walking around Times Square, he happens across a crowd of teenagers waiting outside a theatre to see the new singing sensation Sourdough Tony, the voice of Alaska.

Storyline: The Carter family owns a cattle ranch out west. It's lonely and the prospect of having company is always a great event. A letter arrives announcing that cousin Frumson is arriving today for a visit. Cousin Frumson has a reputation among the family as being a colorful character, having fought pirates, trained elephants in the circus and once won a great athletic contest. When he finally arrives, his appearance doesn't match up to their expectations of him. He's short, overweight and dressed in a Swiss mountain climber's outfit.
