Storyline: Mike Kelly wants to relax after a hard day of "man's work", but he can't find anyone with free time. Teddy and Sally have homework and Joe has to help with laundry. He tries to hang out with Dutch and his friends, but when they go into a bar, the bartender won't allow him in, because he's still a minor. The ham radio just has static tonight due to the rainy weather. Mike gets called into work in the morning to help on the levee. There's danger of flooding and lots more rain is expected. Chuck shows up at the construction site, but Mike wants nothing to do with him.

There's Nothing To Do and Everybody's Bored on a Rainy Afternoon

Storyline: Patsy has some friends over and everyone is bored. It's raining outside and they can't think of anything to do. Aunt Eileen thinks of a "game" they can all play. They all went out and found people that needed to have things done in or around their house, but weren't able to physically perform the task themselves, or couldn't afford to do it.

Storyline: Stephen and Joe left Hungary with their family after the Russians sent troops into their country to put down the people's revolt against communism. They settled in Michigan and are getting used to life in the USA, but it's difficult. They are used to hearing propaganda in school back in Hungary and don't know what to make of this new country where they are not told what to think and do. Joe is having an especially hard time adjusting. Stephen plans on understanding what's going on, while Joe plans to fight.

Chapter Two

Storyline: Frumson agrees to work at the circus to pay off the damages sustained to the strength-testing machine. There is plenty of work to do and he's exhausted, but he does a good job. Blackie and Gunboat are planning to steal the gate receipts from the circus. They give Frumson an impossible task to perform. They ask him to return the strong-man's weights to his dressing room after he finishes practicing, knowing he won't be able to even budge them. Their eyes practically pop out of their heads when they see him easily lifting both weights and asking where they should go.
