Storyline

Wilma and Blair are high school sweethearts; she repeatedly advises him about his future, urging him to study business rather than writing, which is his passion. When Blair graduates from college, she convinces him to take a job in a big company rather than revise the novel he’s written. To impress his new boss, Wilma suggests Blair manage the local library as a project. Librarian Frances encourages Blair’s writing, and warns Wilma that she’ll lose him if she ignores his interests. Wilma changes her ways and she and Blair will be happy.

Storyline

Although she hates the work, Penny works as an auto mechanic for Alec because she loves him. Alec wants to expand his business so he takes wealthy Chris as his business partner. Chris tells Penny that she’s going to marry Alec and Penny quits. However, when Penny risks her life to save Chris after a car accident, Chris admits she lied. Penny and Alec are reunited and Chris will still be their business partner.

Storyline

Lynne “discovers” Gloria and turns her into a top model; she similarly promotes Roger from camera assistant to model, and the two become famous. Lynne loves Roger but he’s infatuated with Gloria, while photographer Dick pines for Lynne. When Roger proposes to Lynne she realises he only cares about his career, and it’s Dick whom she really loves.

Storyline

Karen and Fred are saving money for their wedding, but he insists she quit her office job when they are married. Karen also makes hats as a hobby and designer Guy offers her a full-time job; Fred agrees, but only if she doesn’t become “a career woman.” Fred eventually breaks their engagement when Karen begins spending too much time with Guy. However, Karen discovers Guy is taking credit for her work and quits. She and Fred reconcile.

Storyline

Bambi is hired as a singer with Jerry’s orchestra; the band's other singer Gail is jealous, because she intends to wed Jerry. Jerry and Bambi fall in love, and Gail threatens to frame Bambi’s brother (a member of the band) for robbery unless Bambi quits. Bambi tries to replace the money but is caught by Gail and Jerry. However, Jerry proves Gail is lying and he will marry Bambi.
