Story featuring Superboy

Storyline: The Kents take Clark to Metropolis for the Fourth of July celebrations. Committee member Cyrus Barton advocates for the largest display of fireworks ever seen in the city, and crooks use the diversion to raid a bank vault. Superboy foils that and other crimes, resulting in a giant float depicting the Boy of Steel, who prophetically says, 'Thanks folks! Maybe I'll be back again some day!'

Story featuring Green Arrow

Storyline: Gang leader Diary Dan keeps a diary of his crimes. While fleeing from the police, in a curio shop he finds a diary belonging to another criminal, dating from a thousand years in the past. He escapes Green Arrow and Speedy by using a trick found in the old diary. Green Arrow finally traps him by using his 'diary arrow', leaving a fake diary which Dan thinks is his own and stops to retrieve.

Story featuring Aquaman

Storyline: Cartoonist Quentin Ward tries to sell his editor a daily strip which shows his hero travelling around the world entirely by sea. To overcome the editor's objections, Ward offers to do the same in real life. He hops various freighters and fishing boats, and Aquaman gives him a hand by commanding a giant turtle (and later a whale) to give Ward a lift.

Story featuring The Shining Knight

Storyline: A museum guide tells his tour the legend of a winged warrior statue which pre-dates the discovery of America. Justin is the assistant curator, and recalls the occasion when, as Sir Justin of the Round Table, he magically tried to travel back a thousand years to King Arthur's court. But, dropping his sword during the time travel trip he landed among a tribe of First Nations peoples, thereby becoming the prototype of the legend.

Story featuring Johnny Quick

Storyline: When Tubby asks for a promotion to full-time cameraman, his boss gives him the 'dull list', locations where good newsreel footage is impossible to obtain. While Tubby is at the zoo looking at bears lounging around, Johnny Quick agitates the air around them, causing the bears to dance. At the library Johnny spots a man trying to steal a rare book, and causes other volumes to fly off the shelves. And so on until the list is covered. All the while Tubby gets great footage. Unfortunately, he has forgotten to load an film into the camera.
