Si Evans invents a machine for collecting butterflies, but a pair of criminals try to steal it. Bill uses the machine itself to capture the crooks.

Morton asks his mother for a piece of pie and she insists he only take one slice. He cuts a small portion and eats the remaining huge piece
Story Featuring Zatara
"You can learn magic from books..."
Jimmy White sees Zatara perform magic at a basketball game and decides he will learn it too. Soon he is performing simple sleight of hand, but one of the young onlookers decides to steal items from passing adults and claim the missing item had just vanished. Zatara sees what is happening and teaches the young offender a lesson. His brother is escaped convict Baldy Smith and one of the gang is about to shoot Zatara in the back when Jimmy saves him.
Story Featuring Shorty
"I'll show here - I'll run away from home!"
Shorty runs away from home to avoid doing the dishes. When he has to jump into a lake to avoid a swarm of hornets he is arrested for trespassing, and forced to wash dishes to work off his five dollar fine.
"Gosh! I'm broke again..."
"Say! That's not in the act!"
The Vigilante and Stuff foil a series of robberies which turn out to be masterminded by a travelling theatre owner.
