The Classroom Secret

Storyline: A PSA from the National Citizens Commission for the public schools, in which children all earn money for a secret school project: giving a surprise party for their teacher.

Storyline: Taylor saves his friend Tommy from drowning in a deep pool formed by a broken water main. But his mother doesn't believe the story until Tommy's mother shows up and presents Taylor with a new wallet as a reward.

Storyline: Irene is on her way home to her trailer court when she spots a trailer on fire with children inside, and risking her life, rescues both younger children still inside after the older siblings escaped.

Storyline: Secretary Claire Brickley, on her lunch break, spots a little girl drowning in Boston Commons Frog Pond, and wades in, fully clothed, to rescue the girl.

Storyline: A Philadelphia housewife and husband escape the acrid fumes of leaking refrigerator gas and alert their sons to also escape. After having left the house, one of the sons hears their 78-year-old grandfather yelling for help and one of the sons save him.

Storyline: Ohio State Senior James Scheiman spots the hand of a young boy going down in the water for the last time, rescues him off the bottom and applies artificial respiration for 10 minutes until medical personnel can arrive on the scene.

Storyline: Robert and Francis save the life of a little boy who had been hunting grasshoppers when he fell into a river and nearly went over the dam.

Storyline: Larry and his buddy are out fishing one day when they spot a man in the water near his boat. Larry dives in with his clothes on and rescues him.

Bandit Patrol

Storyline: When a payroll messenger from an engraving company is beat up and robbed, two alert Policemen spot the get-away car, stop it and apprehend the criminals, for which they were awarded medals and an award.

The Yellow Dog

Storyline: Big Rick, a 38-year veteran guide, watched as a bear severely injured his dog, Nugget. Not wanting to have a dog around that could be a liability, Rick gives the dog to an old trapper friend of his, Eric. Eric then used the dog to track down dangerous wolverines. After that, the old trapper saw no use for the dog until one day a giant brown bear attacked Eric in his cabin, and, though severely injured, the dog held off the bear long enough for Eric to kill it. A few years later, when Eric died, the dog somehow made his way back to Big Rick, who later died in 1926.

A Man at Four

Storyline: Two young boys are playing in an old playhouse when one of them gets his neck caught in the rafters. Fast thinking by Gary is getting the assistance of the boy's mother aids in the saving of her son's life.

Storyline: Ken DiPaolo, recovering from blindness caused by an accident six months earlier, is walking along the river bank of the Mystic River in Massachusetts when he spies a child drowning in the water. He dives in and brings the child to shore and performs artificial respiration on him to save his life.

Storyline: Tenderfoot Scout Richard Paturel saves the life of a buddy of his who has fallen from a raft into the river by pulling the boy out and performing artificial respiration.

Boyscout Turns Cowboy

Storyline: Boy Scout Jack Gause and his two pals are playing cowboy one day when one of the boys falls into a deep pool of water and is near drowning when quick-witted Jack pulls him out and administers artificial respiration to save his life.

Storyline: Buddy and Marion go swimming, but Marion takes off on his own, warned by Buddy not to attempt the swim alone. Buddy later jumps in to follow Marion, spots his struggling in the water, and then tows him some 200' to safety.

Storyline: An oil stove on the porch of a house explodes, causing a fire which threatens the life of a 3-month-old girl in her stroller. Ronald Orzel risks death by pulling the flaming stroller away from the porch and assisting in putting out the flames engulfing the baby's blanket.

Storyline: While hanging up her wash, Rose Renzi happens to see a 2-year-old child draped over a second story balustrade. Rushing over, she arrives in time to catch the falling child and preventing his death.

Storyline: Little Marta wants to go swimming while her brother John fishes. However, Marta begins to drown and John saves her. The act is recognized by the Governor of the State in an official letter to John.

Storyline: Joe is told by a group of his friends that a small boy has fallen into the water and is about to drown. He jumps in, pulls the boy out, and performs artificial respiration on the lad for 15 minutes until medics arrive.

Storyline: Diana and her mother are strolling down by the docks looking for their cousin, an officer on an incoming ship, when the little girl falls off a plank into the water, and is in danger of being crushing by a shifting ship. 130 crew members put their backs to work holding back the ship while Joseph Zappulla is lowered down to rescue the girl.
