Story Featuring Superman
"Lois in danger! This is a job for Superman!"
As Lois Lane stands on the roof of a burning building, Superman flies in while Batman swings in from the opposite side, with both heroes determined to save her.
"Superman, mighty Man of Steel whose super-powers have conquered catastrophes and wrecked wrong-doers! Batman, hooded foe of crime whose flashing feats have crushed crooks for years! Are any two names in the world more famous than these? Yet these two..."
Superman and Batman learn each other's secret identities when they meet on a cruise while trying to find a diamond thief.
1st Superman-Batman team (outside of radio and the Justice Society of America). The World's Finest Comics Archives reprint was taken from the World's Finest #179 reprint, as evidenced by the splash page blurb: "Now that you've read the 'origin' of the World's Finest Team, here's the natural follow-up...from Superman No. 76, May-June 1952...." Inker credits corrected by Craig Delich; they were reversed. It appears that Kaye's inks actually begin on lower half of page 8.

Young Joe Harris always wanted to be a G-Man, but his physical defects prevent him from being one...until Superman unwittingly gives Joe a chance to hold several non G-Man positions. Unfortunately, Frosty Harris and his gang plan to use Joe's physical liabilities against him in order to commit crimes.
Story of how Richard Gatling invented the gun that carries his name.
"Isn't Superman a dear, Lorraine? It's so sweet of him to sky-write a Valentine for me!"
Lois gets the bright idea of arranging an engagement for Clark Kent to a girl friend of hers, all in hopes of then being able to marry Superman. But the Man of Steel learns of the plan and arranges a scheme to de-rail that attempt.
Script credit based on comparisons with stories in Action Comics that Martin O'Hearn reassigned to Dorothy Woolfolk (http://martinohearn.blogspot.com/search/label/Woolfolk%20%28Dorothy%29%20scripts). We previously credited this story to Bill Woolfolk, but it is not on his list. Per Craig Delich, there is a good possibility that Stan Kaye did the heads of Lois Lane in this story. This story does not contain a Feature Logo.
