"Low over the Gulf of Benzheen, in the Middle East..."

Storyline

Ace and Dogfight return to the U.S.S. Flagg from a recon mission over Benzheen - their Skystriker shot up. Believing Cobra is up to something, General Hawk sends Ghostrider and Slip-Stream on a recon mission in the Stealth X-19 fighter to find out what's going on. When they return, they bring back photographic proof to Hawk that Cobra's new agreement with the Emir called for establishing Terror Dromes on site, which Hawk later (off-panel) uses to his advantage against Cobra.

Story Notes

Captain Jeffries' code name, Ghostrider, is never used in the series as it is trademarked and copyrighted by Marvel for use in comics. To avoid any legal entanglements, it was decided that all Joes would forget his code name as an inside joke between Marvel and Hasbro. In this story, Slip-Stream calls Ghostrider both "Stealthy" and "Cloverleaf." Presumably in a scripting or editorial error, Ghostrider (twice) and Hawk (once) call Slip-Stream "Dogfight" after it is confirmed Slip-Stream (both in-script and visually) is Ghostrider's co-pilot in this story. Story is shortened to 20 pages due to the inclusion of a dossier for Dusty.
