Storyline

Fay moves to Hollywood to break into movies. She’s cast opposite fading star Dean and becomes a new star, while Dean’s career falters. Fay and Dean fall in love but he vanishes, fearing he’s holding her back. When she wins an award, Fay makes a retirement speech and an appeal to Dean. She returns to her small town and Dean joins her there.

Storyline

Libby stays in her small town while her best friend Laura moves to the city. Libby falls in love with Gary, her father’s assistant pharmacist. Laura becomes a successful novelist; when she comes back for a visit, she sets her cap for Gary. However, Gary chooses Libby.

Storyline

Social worker Caroline and interne Jay fall in love, but they can’t afford to wed on their combined salaries. However, when a tenement building collapses, Jay and Caroline pitch in to rescue the victims, and Jay realises his place is helping people.

Storyline

Myra accepts Lanny’s marriage proposal, but she finds him dull compared to her ideal “dream man.” Lanny and magazine writer Gilda fall in love, and Myra discovers he’s the man she’s actually been dreaming of. She thinks she’s lost him, but Lanny says he and Gilda just pretended to be in love to make Myra realise she loved him.
