Storyline

A notorious criminal named The Foil is allowed to escape from prison so that the Feathered Furies can round up his entire gang. During an attempt to capture the felons, however, Hawkgirl believes that her partner has died in an explosion.

Storyline

Johnny loses a package containing a stuffed owl that contains evidence that will convict a dangerous criminal, and, with the Black Canary, must try to retrieve it.

Suggested George Storm pencils credit from Steven Rowe. Craig Delich states that George Storm never drew this feature, however. Delich suggested Irwin Hasen, then Carmine Infantino, as we originally had. Keith Chandler : Bails has Storm as unconfirmed penciller on this feature for 1947. Stylistically, this does not look like Infantino (or Hasen, for that matter), with the hero in uncharacteristically exaggerated fighting and running poses. Story title from the Archives reprint. Thunderbolt does not appear in this story.
