The Sword of Nether-Eden

Story featuring Arak, Son of Thunder

Storyline: After repelling an attack by serpent-men, Arak is charged with finding the sword of the arch-angel Gabriel, hidden somewhere in Damaskos. Arak's shaman abilities enable him to find the blade just in time to be attacked by a half-man, half-serpent creature. Arak kills the beast with the sword, but the Serpent-Lord appears in a vision and manages to abduct Sharizad and Alsind with the help of a traitor, Alsind's own mother. The stage is set: does Arak give the sword to his eternal enemy to save the lives of his friends?

The Turtle and the Serpent

Story featuring Arak, Son of Thunder

Storyline: It is the season of fish-running, where the boys of the tribe chase spawning fish into their elders' nets. It's going well until Arak suddenly hurls a rock at his adoptive father's net, smashing it. It appears he's brought shame on his family until they all realize that Arak was actually saving the man's life by killing a venomous snake in the net. Also in the net is a turtle, a good omen. All in all, it's another example of the tribe's eternal struggle with the Serpent-Lord.
