CPL Wiley's weapons platoon fought the rain forest, the hordes of poisonous snakes, and the clouds of malarial mosquitoes, as they fought the stubborn enemy up along the coast of the tropical island. Inland the New Guinea natives watched this civilized insanity and went on fighting their own brand of tribal warfare between themselves. [first page]
