Story Notes

Stan Lee's Soapbox gives credit to the artists for working from a synopsis and delivering the finished art on deadline. The current issue of the Hulk is based on Tom Wolfe's "Radical Chic" and Wolfe appears in the story. Reed Crandall and Al Williamson are planning to illustrate stories. The Bullpen says they're swamped with requests for help for term papers, etc., from college students and don't have time to help with any of them, so stop asking. John Severin and his family (wife and six children) are moving to Colorado. Gene Colan is teaching a part-time course on comics in his home town in New Jersey. Lynn Wolley, news-reporter at KNOW radio in Houston and Mike Turner at WABC-FM in New York have been promoting Marvel comics. Doug Kenny, editor of the National Lampoon, visited the Bullpen and had a long talk with Stan. Also "Make Mine Marvel" flanked by headshots of Iron Man and Captain America.
