Storyline

While Daredevil battles the Man-Bull, Foggy reunites with Karen and tries to deal with being blackmailed by the mysterious Mr. Kline.

Story Notes

Part 2 of Mr. Kline story in DD. Play "Count Man-Bull's Toes" as he keeps dropping from five to four throughout the issue. On story page four, DD mentions the band "Blood, Sweat and Tears" as well as race car driver Richard Petty and the Firecracker 400 during his banter. On story page 15, Stan Lee and wife Joan appear in two panels in a street scene and Stan mentions going home to write "Spider-Man." DD notices him and refers to him as "fearless leader."

Stan's Soapbox celebrates the 100th issue of Spider-Man. The Bullpen is working on an art exhibit for Emerson College in Boston. Barry Smith has drawn an illustration for "The Second Illustrated Beatles Lyrics." Stan's wife Joanie made a visit to England, and, due to the U. S. mail strike that was then in effect, brought back art from Barry Smith and material from the band Icarus, which is completing a Marvel album. Sal Amendola is the newest addition to the production staff. Gerry Conway went to the west coast to confer with Harlan Ellison on a "secret project." John Romita has just bought a Mercedes. Scholastic's NewsTime edition had an article on the latest Spider-Man issues. Stan was interviewed on ABC-TV's Eyewitness News. There was also a mention of Marvel in the In the Know section of Look magazine and an article in the New York Times about Spider-Man. Spot illustration of Captain America on a motorcycle. At the bottom of the page is the large Marvel logo with 11 headshots.
