Earliest known professional work published for Bernie Wrightson (letter published in Creepy #5, October, 1965 & illustration published in Creepy #9, June, 1966). Spectre #9 was published two weeks after this issue, with an 8 1/2 page story by Bernie in it.

Storyline

In 1897, merchant seaman Angus Beame marries Mary Bourne for her eventual inheritance. When Mary's father's will is read, and is not to Angus' satisfaction, he sails away and leaves Mary. In response, Mary places a curse on her betraying husband that he may not return to harbor until the day she dies.
