Brooklyn's true name, Dan Turpin, was not revealed until later in the Boy Commando adventures. The opening splash page that introduces the Boy Commandos is the same face front technique Kirby used when co-creating and introducing the Howling Commandos in Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos (Marvel, 1963 series) #1 as per Comic Book Historians article researched by Alex Grand.
