In Atlantic City

"Boy! I didn't know this life-saving racket was so much fun!"

Storyline

Slam gets a telegram asking him to fly to Atlantic City immediately. On arrival Slim and Shorty discover that the man who sent the telegram has just drowned, so to investigate disguise themselves as life guards. He saves Ethel Mann from drowning, and later gets a message asking if they can meet. She claims to be a excellent swimmer, but claims to have been pulled underwater by a pair of non-human arms. Shorty gets pulled into the sea by a mysterious inhuman figure, but Slam saves him. Later, when saving Ethel yet again, the "creature" is revealed to be merely a man in a diving suit.

"Cosmo sits at home reading..."

Storyline

Cosmo gets a call from his friend Emilio, who has had a premonition of danger. When he gets to the apartment, Cosmo finds Emilio has been murdered. Disguising himself as his dead friend, a knife is thrown at him, but he has seen the would-be assassin's reflection and ducked. The killer is revealed to be Leon Petrokoff, recently released from an insane asylum.

At the Rodeo
Storyline

A champion bronc rider is shot from his horse at a rodeo. Speed is in the audience, and enters the same event, when he is also shot at. Fortunately, he was thrown from the bronc just before impact. The killer is revealed to be a rider who was sacked from the rodeo, and who was trying to close up the show.
