Story Featuring Tomahawk
The British enlist several convicted criminals, each with a special skill, into a gang intended to destroy Tomahawk's Rangers, and led by a mysterious masked figure. They quickly capture some of the Rangers in order to lead the others into a trap.
Tomahawk is captured while trying to free his comrades and the Hood unmasks for him, revealing herself as Lady Shilling, sister of his old enemy Lord Shilling. He later escapes and reunites with the Rangers, who quickly defeat the Ranger Killers (though the Hood escapes).
Lady Shilling inked by Bob Brown on pp 11-12.
On Christmas, Tomahawk and his men are ordered to cross a river at all costs. They try again and again but are driven back by enemy fire. Finally allowed to stand down, they learn that it was a decoy mission on the Delaware River, so that another band of soldiers, led by General Washington, could cross farther north and engage the British at Trenton.
The final panel of this story is a recreation of the famous painting "Washington Crossing the Delaware" (1851) by Emanuel Leutze.
