Story Featuring Superman
First reference to Luthor's future wife as Ardora. In her only previous appearance -- Superman (DC, 1939 series) #167 (February 1964) -- she was called Tharla.
Title taken from cover of issue.
Special Metropolis Mailbag due to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Instead of the letters it reproduces an article from the Friday August 30, 1963 New York Times that details an upcoming Superman story featuring President John F. Kennedy. A memoriam note explains the story was pulled due to his assassination. The story did finally appear in Superman #170 at President Lyndon Johnson’s request. This panel printed here was not used in the final story, and is by different artists.
