Storyline: Herby tries to find out why his friend is crying.

Storyline: Smitty sends Herby to get some candy for his girlfriend's birthday. The candy is ruined, so Herby makes a card for Smitty to give to the girl.

Storyline: When Herby's mother is sick, Herby assumes the duties of running the house.

Proof of Loss

Storyline: Herby gives Scrappy to a poor girl, but the dog is stolen by a bully and Herby has to fight to get him back.

A Hero's Life

Storyline: Herby is a bystander when a boy saves a baby from drowning in a pool. The boy quickly leaves and the baby's parents assume that Herby is the hero. Herby is increasingly uncomfortable as the publicity touting him as a hero increases.

Fighting Old Fighter

Storyline: Smitty, Herby, and Mr. Bailey go to the North Woods to go fishing.

Herby's Lucky Day

Storyline: Herby spends a dollar on hot dogs and candy and the next morning is too sick to go to school.

Dreaming of Food

Storyline: Herby dreams of candy and ice cream, then has a nightmare about castor oil.
