Story Featuring X-Men
"The hurricane wind is so loud, no other sound can be heard above its screaming, so strong that nothing living can stand against it."
Cyclops pulls the team together after their first mind numbing encounter with Proteus. Proteus takes over the body of his father in order to take the X-Men down in round two.
Unlike previous titles, this episode’s one isn’t directly inspired by a quote from William Shakespeare’s works. Nevertheless, 'The Quality of Hatred!' could be considered a counterpoint to ‘the quality of mercy,’ one famous quote from the British author, extracted from his Merchant of Venice play (Act 4, scene 1). For as Proteus shows no mercy for his father and, besides, uses the form of a woman, Jennie Banks; that could be considered a parallel to the character of Portia, disguised as a man, in Shakespeare’s crucial play’s scene that refers to ‘the quality of mercy.’
