"The G.I. Joe Team has invaded Springfield, but Cobra forces have been rallied by the mysterious Serpentor..."

Storyline

The assault on Springfield concludes with the Joes taking the city, and rescuing Ripcord, but not before all the Cobras head off for Cobra Island as Serpentor leads a distracting counterattack. Storm Shadow miraculously returns to life after using an old ninja trick to save him from the Baroness's fatal shots earlier; while with the Dreadnoks and Zartan's sister Zarana he returns with memories that were used to create Serpentor last issue.
