Barney brags to his nephews about being a wild animal tamer. When the boys call his bluff and ask that he train a wildcat, Barney chickens-out, finds an alley cat, and makes it up to look like a wildcat.

"Let's get our fortunes told, Jerry!"

Storyline

Jerry and Tuffy get their fortunes told by a weight and fortune machine. Tuffy's says he's going to travel on water. Jerry's says he will build a new home and settle down. With such conflicting futures, the mice feel they must go their separate ways. Circumstances become such that both of their fortunes come true - and without their splitting up.

Ad for Cracker Jack candy-coated popcorn with peanuts, with mail order offers for a "genuine 2 piece Judy Jane Doll Dress" and/or an engraved identification bracelet, each offer for only 25-cents and a Cracker Jack box label. A box of Campfire Brand marshmallows ("Best tasting. Best toasting.") is also pictured at the lower right corner of the ad, though no mention of this product occurs in the ad copy! Color ad on back cover.

Storyline

Red shirt boy shows off his new sixty-dollar bike to blue shirt boy, saying he "got it from Super Coola as a free bonus gift."

Ad for Super Coola soft drinks "in non-breakable accident-proof cans! Seven super lively flavors... at good stores everywhere!" THE BOYS THE DISCUSS SITUATION AS IF IT WERE A TELEVISION COMMERCIAL: BLUE SHIRT BOY: "Don't kid me! Why would Super Coola give you a $60 bike like that for free?" RED SHIRT BOY: "I just sent in a quarter and the caps from 2 Super Coola cans to get 2 keen Jet Racing Cars - and I was one of the lucky kids who got bikes as bonus gifts." BLUE SHIRT BOY: "Hey - can I get in on that?" RED SHIRT BOY: "Sure, if you hurry. Just join the Super Surprise Gift Club, like I did. You don't even have to WRITE ANYTHING or MAKE ANYTHING UP." To complete this comics page simulation of a TV commercial, a slick-but-happy-faced ANNOUNCER (heretofore unseen) appears in the final panel holding up a can of Super Coola and telling the readers more about the free offer. The ad concludes with the following attribution: "Copyright 1955, Cantrell & Cochrane Corporation", which would make Super Coola a related product to the C&C Cola brand.

A clown that looks as if he just stepped out of a Normal Rockwell painting acts as a circus barker to hawk Kool-Aid.
